报告主题简介:

Abstract:Reconfigurable antennas can alter their characteristics according to varying environments. They have emerged as an important technology that can significantly improve the system performance such as data rates and link connectivity for future B5G and 6G wireless technologies. Currently, reconfigurable antenna technologies are a hot topic in both academia and industry. To this end, the talk today will present the fundamental concepts and latest developments on reconfigurable antennas. In particular, a number of our innovative reconfigurable antenna technologies will be introduced and discussed, including the novel polarization- and/or pattern-reconfigurable designs for both individual element antennas and series-feed array antennas. Antenna prototypes with simulated and measured performance characteristics will be presented to validate these technologies. The talk will also highlight potential opportunities and research gaps in this field. Finally, a brief introduction to the Electromagnetic Informatics Lab (EIL) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and its full-scholarship PhD opportunity will be presented.

 

报告人简介:

Biography: Dr. Chen received the Ph.D. degree in engineering from the UTS, Australia, in 2019. From Sep. 2019 to Sep. 2022, he was a postdoctoral researcher with the Global Big Data Technologies Centre (GBDTC) at UTS, where he is currently appointed as a Lecturer. Prior to this, Dr Chen was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, City University of Hong Kong (CityU). His research interests include reconfigurable antennas, traveling wave antennas, and array pattern synthesis. He received the Outstanding Master's Thesis of Fujian Province in 2015. He was a co-recipient for a number of international conference paper awards, including 2017 IEEE AP-S/URSI, 2017 ISAP, 2018 ISAPE, 2021 ACES, and 2022 ISAP. He was awarded the 2022 EuCAP TICRA-EurAAP Travel Grant and the 2022 IEEE AP-S Fellowship. Dr. Chen was a Lead Guest Editor of special sessions for IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (AWPL) in 2024 and IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation (OJAP) in 2023. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs (TCAS-II).
